Beads and Things

My girls and I went to Gifts of Avalon bead store a few days ago and got some beads to make earrings.  I can't take the credit for making them.  I just helped pick the stuff out.  How hard can this jewelry thing be anyways?  With the help of You Tube, they did wonderful.  Now they can make their mom some!

I love the handmade beads from Gaea.  I love the Day of The Dead things...I need to order some the skulls and such for a bracelet.  This bee pendant is aweome.

Sock Monkies

I need to start a sock monkey for Addy.  I want to make one instead of buying one from mass production.  While searching for a pattern, I found these socks that will be on the needles as soon as I buy some yarn.  There is nothing in my stash that would work:(

Yarn, yarn and more yarn

It's not a secret that I love yarn.  Even if it just sits there.....I love it.  Now these yarn wreaths are awesome. Katie Runnels is oh so talented. I had the pleasure of seeing some of her work in person at the SCAD shop in Savannah.  I am going to make one for the holidays.  I have a bunch of small occupied japan bobbles that I thrifted for pennies last year.  Here's her tutorial that she graciously shared.

I needed a break from the peep today so she went to the sitter's. I should have been home doing stuff, but went shopping instead. That is how I relax. I haven't been to Hanks for awhile so I swung buy to see what they had. Plus I just got Cat Borhi's sock book and wanted to try some stuff. I am going to knit the trial pair for the peep on this awesome tie dye yarn from Skacel called Crazy Zauberball....Yum!

Crafting Delights

Jenny Hart, of Sublime Stitching , has an inspiring new book out.  Her embroidery is cool, cute and definitely different than your mama's old embroidery.  The chicks and I have started these projects...meant to be pillows, but haven't finished them yet.  Can't wait to get the new book and hopefully make some stuff for the peep.  She's a cool peep.

Another new book is 
Bend the Rules with Fabric.  Amy Karol is great.  Her blog, Angry Chicken ,  is wonderful.  One of the first ones I started reading.  This is a must have.  Me and Amazon have a great relationship!
